SUPPORT STUDENT-RUN MEDIA

SCTV and all of UCSC's student-run media are facing an urgent funding crisis that threatens to leave the organizations without access to necessary resources and support. Vote YES on MEASURE 34 to save SCTV, support all of Student Media, and help sustain our student voice at UCSC.

We Need Measure 34 Because...

  • The 40+ student-run TV, Print, and Radio organizations that make up Student Media at UCSC are facing an urgent funding crisis
  • While student involvement in Student Media has grown 300% in the past ten years, funding for these organizations has dropped significantly. This lack of funding now threatens many Student Media organizations, which may no longer have access to resources and advisers next year.
  • UCSC Student Media organizations serve as UCSC's greatest form of communication within our student population and larger Santa Cruz community, and in order to protect our diverse student voice here at UCSC, we need to ensure that all students will continue to be able to participate in Student Media on campus.

Make Student Voice Your Choice! Vote May 14th-21st online at elections.ucsc.edu!

QUESTION

Shall the undergraduate students of UCSC provide funding to support and strengthen the diversity of the student voice in television, print, radio, and inter-media by ensuring training and advising for student-run media by assessing themselves up to $4.14* per student per quarter, beginning Fall 2008?
